Dhat Ras Temple Attic

Click for a larger imageThe passage to the left from the top of the staircase leads to the attic (internal structure). [ Photo] The attic measures 4.17 meters long, 2.02 meters wide, and 1.40 meters high at the apex of the ceiling.  [ Photo] It has a barrel-vaulted ceiling extending the length of the room. The room may have been used for storage since the height is too short for an adult person to stand erect.

Stairs continue up from the attic another nine steps to the top of the temple. Although unable to determine for certain, these steps perhaps led to the roof above the attic and to the tops of the temple exterior walls. [ Photo] There is no indication an additional room existed above the attic.
